Symptoms

Game crashes when attempting to play single player/host your game. Joining another game does work however.

Reproduction

Run the game, if you have an existing character choose 'Continue'.

Notes

First of all, besides this issue the rest of the game functions as far as I can tell "perfectly". Which is great news, means if this little bug is squashed we could have a platinum game on our hands.

The game doesn't have distinct offline and online modes, whether you plan to play solo or with friends you choose the same option of 'Continue', which hosts a new instance of the game, and you choose after that if you want to invite friends. Issue could be possibly related to networking issues. The game runs fine when joining another online game, but trying to host a game yourself doesn't work.

It is worth noting you can force offline play by disconnecting from the internet before choosing 'Continue', and interestingly the game doesn't crash when you do this. So whatever the issue is, it seems to be related to network and only effects hosting.

Start by reviewing steam-704270.log and the linked full system information report, then reproduce the reported behavior with Proton 4.2-2. Compare hosting or single-player startup with joining another game and with internet access disabled. Done means the hosting crash is explained and the compatibility report is resolved or updated with a verified status.
