Symptoms

When playing versus matches against the CPU, the game crashes frequently due to an error in kernel32.dll. Running Steam with runtime disabled or enabled doesn't seem to make a difference, nor using different Proton versions. (Note that when running Wine (not Proton), I can't get the keyboard to work at all.)

The logs generated by the game itself (under steamapps/compatdata/857460/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Endless Shirafu/Akashicforce/) look like this:

Reproduction

Play Mission 15 as Shaty and perform a few Methods, trying to stay alive. A few uses of Exceeded Semantics should do it.

Start with the Proton log at the linked Gist and the game-generated log under steamapps/compatdata/857460/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Endless Shirafu/Akashicforce/. Reproduce the crash by playing Mission 15 as Shaty and using several Methods, including Exceeded Semantics, under the reported Proton setup. Done means the versus-match crash is resolved or its compatibility cause is isolated.
