Description

Whitelist Request

  • Name of the game to be whitelisted: Battlerite Royale
  • Steam AppID of the game: 879160

System Information

  • GPU: RX580
  • Driver/LLVM version: Mesa 18.3.4
  • Distro version: Arch Linux
  • Link to full system information report as Gist:
  • Proton version: 3.16-8

I confirm:

  • that pressing the Play button in the Steam client is sufficient.
  • that runtime config options are necessary to run the game.
  • that no workarounds other than PROTON_* env variables are necessary.

Issues

  • I haven't experienced any issues.
  • There are no issues left open for this game.
  • Although I consider the gaming experience equal to Windows there are remaining issues:

This can be considered a sort of sister-game for Battlerite (504370). It's from the same developers, shares progression but has a different steam id and different launcher. More or less, there is enough to consider it a different game, so I have created this issue separate from the main original game.

I have been playing without issues on Proton Version 3.16-7 too but didn't test out too many games during that time. Now after Proton Version 3.16-8 was introduced, I felt it was a good time to test out playing multiple rounds in the game back to back and I couldn't really find any issues or crashes running the game. Everything works perfectly as it should, so I have opened this issue so that, barring any issue that I couldn't find in my play time, this game can be considered to be good enough to play out-of-the-box on proton. I also taped out a proton log which I can upload if necessary.

Research direction

No repository files, tests, or entry points are mentioned. Review the Proton game-compatibility issue process and the linked Battlerite issue first; completion would require maintainers to record or confirm Battlerite Royale's reported out-of-box compatibility.
