Symptoms
The main menu works fine, but if you choose any start I believe the installer Kenshi uses when it generates the world doesn't work too well and it crashes.
Reproduction
Go into Kenshi, click 'New Game' and choose any start.

Research direction
Reproduce the failure in Kenshi by selecting New Game and any start with Proton 3.7-6, then inspect steam-233860.log alongside the system information. Done means the world-generation step completes and the game no longer crashes after choosing a start.
