Symptoms

Crashes at launch and does not play at all after installing all of the standard "extra" files like DirectX, Visual Runtime etc. then it states running and disappears and crashes does not launch nor load.

Reproduction

Activate all options in the advanced setting on Steam Play in the main menu hit download for Universe Sandbox then hit play after downloading it just states running and then dumps and nothing happens.

Start with steam-72200.log and the linked system-information Gist, using the reported GTX 750 Ti, driver 396.54, kernel 4.15, and Proton 3.7-6 as context. Reproduce the launch failure for Universe Sandbox (Steam AppID 72200) with the reported Steam Play settings. Done means identifying and documenting a reproducible cause or compatibility fix.
