Description

Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Towerclimb
  • Steam AppID of the game: 396640

System Information

  • GPU: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Tonga PRO [Radeon R9 285/380]
  • Driver/LLVM version: Mint 19 Cinnamon 3.8.8
  • Kernel version: 4.15.0-34-generic
  • Proton version: 3.7-6 Beta

I confirm:

that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Steam log: https://pastebin.com/2CZa7tU3
It was so long that github wouldn't allow me to upload it.

Symptoms

I get a runtime error with the message: Failed to load plugin C:\users\steamuser\Temp\capbde5.tmp\9.csx (126)

There is no game window that launches. It runs in the Construct game engine (not sure if it's 1 or 2. I believe the dev said 2). I'm not really sure how to fix it.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the linked Steam log and the reported Proton 3.7-6 Beta environment, then investigate the missing plugin error for Towerclimb. The issue does not identify a source file, test, or expected fix; done would require determining why the game fails to launch and confirming that it starts successfully.
