Symptoms

Game crashes, taking DE / Compositor after 10-30min of play time. Streaming through discord seems to speed up the process. Crash is caused by a amdgpu ring gfx_0.0.0 time out. I've tested with and without overdrive active.

I've been doing a bit of testing and the issue seems to come from the FSR4 upgrade. It does not matter if its done through ge proton or optiscaler, the game crashes after a certain period of time has passed.

The game still appears to crash without the fsr4 upgrade, it just takes a lot longer now. I crashed only after several hours of gaming.

Reproduction

  1. Boot up the game
  2. Play for 10-30 min
  3. Game should crash after a while

Research direction

Start by reviewing steam-2584270.log, Crash_Mortal_Shell_2_Logs.txt, and the linked system information report, then reproduce the crash using the listed Proton versions and steps. Compare runs with and without the FSR4 upgrade and record whether the amdgpu gfx_0.0.0 timeout can be tied to a specific configuration or component.
