Description
Describe the bug
When I have multiple file windows/tabs open, after enabling the vim extension, I can no longer just click on a tab to open that file. Nor can I click the "X" button to close the file.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Open multiple files in different tabs and try to click the tab header to navigate to the file.

Research direction
No file or test is named. Reproduce the problem with the Vim extension enabled, multiple files open in tabs, and clicks on a tab header and its X button; trace the extension behavior affecting those mouse actions. Done means tab navigation and closing work by mouse while the extension remains enabled.
