Description

Hi there,

I am trying to use vim biddings at its fullest but old habits die hard :-)

Is it possible to inactivate the navigations using the arrows?

My goal would be to replicate these commands from a .vimrc, if someone could point me in a direction, like showing one example I believe I can replicate to the rest.

" Do this in normal mode...
nnoremap <Left> :echoe "Use h"<CR>
nnoremap <Right> :echoe "Use l"<CR>
nnoremap <Up> :echoe "Use k"<CR>
nnoremap <Down> :echoe "Use j"<CR>
" ...and in insert mode
inoremap <Left> <ESC>:echoe "Use h"<CR>
inoremap <Right> <ESC>:echoe "Use l"<CR>
inoremap <Up> <ESC>:echoe "Use k"<CR>
inoremap <Down> <ESC>:echoe "Use j"<CR>

Research direction

The issue names no repository files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the extension’s handling of VS Code arrow-key bindings and compare normal and insert modes with the mappings shown in the issue. Done means arrow navigation can be disabled or remapped in both modes as requested, with coverage for the supported behavior.
