Description
Describe the bug
I'm using a macbook.
When I edit files in local machine, the im-select works fine.
But when I use ssh in vscode to connect to remote linux server.
The im-select installed in local cannot be used, because the setting of im-select in is remote
Is my understanding about this issue wrong ?
I think when you edit files in vscode, the local input method selector should always be used.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Connect to remote linux server
- Open user setting
- Search for input method
- the im-select setting is in remote rather than local
Expected behavior
Settings of vscode vim's input method should be all local
Environment (please complete the following information):
- Extension (VsCodeVim) version: 1.27.1
- VSCode version: 1.91.1
- OS: Macos Sonoma 14.1.2 Arm64

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue with VSCodeVim 1.27.1 in VS Code 1.91.1 on macOS, connecting to a remote Linux server through the SSH plugin. Inspect how the input-method settings are scoped when editing the user settings remotely. Done means VSCodeVim's input-method settings remain local and the local im-select works while editing remote files.
