Research direction

Start from the Shift + Option + Arrow reproduction in the issue and inspect the extension's handling of text selection and mode changes in Insert and Normal modes. Compare the behavior with the documented "vim.mouseSelectionGoesIntoVisualMode" setting; done means those selections switch to Visual-mode-like behavior, with regression coverage for both modes.
