Research direction

The issue names no files or tests. Reproduce the behavior in VS Code on Windows or Linux with a version after 1.25.2, then trace the extension's keyboard-shortcut handling; done when Ctrl-P opens VS Code's "Go to File" menu instead of moving the editor cursor.
