Description

The column of the cursor would change to the first column when I move page by page, such as by pressing "Ctrl+F", "Ctrl+D", "Ctrl+B", and "Ctrl+U". This behavior is inconsistent with Neovim. Also, even when pressing "PageUp" or "PageDown" in the vscode itself, the column of the cursor would be preserved.

I would like to request the column-preserving feature like #6240 for "Ctrl+F", "Ctrl+D", "Ctrl+B", and "Ctrl+U" as well.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the column-preserving implementation requested in issue #6240 and trace how Ctrl+F, Ctrl+D, Ctrl+B, and Ctrl+U are handled. The work is done when these page movements preserve the cursor column consistently with Neovim and VS Code PageUp/PageDown behavior.
