Description

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
In insert mode, pressing <C-a> types the previously inserted test in insert mode, then stays in insert mode.

Describe the solution you'd like
CTRL-A section of the spec here.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Switching to normal mode and using . isn't the same and not as powerful.

Additional context
It's very convenient when doing renames in code.

Research direction

Start by reading the linked Vim insert-mode CTRL-A specification, then trace how insert-mode keybindings are handled in this TypeScript VS Code extension. Done means CTRL-A inserts the previously inserted text while keeping the editor in insert mode, with behavior covered by an appropriate test.
