Description
I have a key bind in my Vim like this: inoremap .<space><space> <Esc>la. and it's working fine. It's a good solution for typing code like this func(arg).anything without using arrows or changing the mode. But use my .vimrc or use config below not working as expected:
"vim.insertModeKeyBindings": [
{
"before": [".", "<space>", "<space>"],
"after": ["<Esc>", "l", "a", "."]
}
],

Research direction
Start by reproducing the reported mapping with the provided vim.insertModeKeyBindings configuration and compare it with the working Vim inoremap example. Confirm the expected behavior is that pressing . in insert mode produces the intended escape, move, append, and period sequence without manual mode changes.
