Research direction

Start by reproducing the reported Cmd+c sequence on macOS in the VSCodeVim extension: copy text, enter insert mode, trigger Cmd+c to leave it, and paste again. Trace the extension's insert-mode exit and clipboard/keybinding handling; done means the copied text remains available for the subsequent paste, matching the expected behavior.
