Research direction

Start by reproducing the Ctrl+A behavior in the VS Code Vim extension's TextEditor context, using the reported sequence that causes old edited code to be copied and pasted. Trace the keybinding handling and identify why the editor becomes unusable; done means Ctrl+A performs the expected action without unintended copying or pasting.
