Editor becomes unresponsive when attempting to jump to definition

Environment:

• VSCode Version: 1.15
• VsCodeVim Version: 0.10.0
• OS: macOS 10.12.6

What happened:
Jumping to a function definition with gd often causes the other keybindings to stop working. For example, I hovered over a decorator in python, pressed gd. The cursor did not jump to the definition. Instead, I am unable to enter insert mode, scroll, or delete the current line, while the cursor blinks. I have the same issues in typescript. I can still move the cursor by clicking, but cannot edit or search. To my surprise, it was working just fine for a while this morning, but I'm again experiencing the same issue.

Jump to definition of function.

Start by reproducing the gd action in VSCodeVim with the reported TypeScript and Python scenarios, using the listed VSCode, extension, and macOS versions where possible. Trace the jump-to-definition path and verify that it either moves to the definition or reports failure without disabling insert mode, scrolling, deletion, search, or other keybindings.
