To summarize, the new site (to be deployed sometime next week) has a new calendar integration that is much more customizable. We discussed this in a meeting a while back, and decided it best to phase out our current use of the Google calendar and use the site or events. We can still access if the Google Calendar is needed after trying that out for a bit (but likely not).
