CPU parallelproj version should not forward project everything at once

Description
For the GPU version, we need to call it in one go, to avoid forward projecting small amounts, but for the CPU version that isn't necessary. This would prevent overheads with subsets.
However, this would need a fair amount of work in the implementation.
