Description
Goal
Make better use of desktop screen space while preserving the current mobile experience.
Proposed scope
- Persistent desktop navigation for Library, Search, Downloads, and Settings.
- Wider main content with responsive grids and readable content limits.
- Persistent compact bottom player.
- Preserve playback and navigation state when resizing between layouts.
Open question
Should the whole player expand into a right sidebar containing artwork, playback controls, and queue, or should it retain the dialog presentation? Explore this before committing to a desktop player layout.
Layout changes only; no new playback features.

Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by exploring the existing layout, navigation, player, and responsive-state code, then resolve whether the desktop player should be a right sidebar or retain its dialog presentation. Done means a responsive desktop layout with persistent navigation and player, wider readable content, and preserved playback and navigation state during resizing without changing playback features.
