Description

If one go back to Jul 7 2022's commit (1532daf), one will notice that running map_view_simple_example.py in 1532daf will cause a blank map. The bug is fixed in the next commit, which is Jul 20, 2022's commit (dfd0ee7). I checked many times the codes committed, but I still don't get how it is fixed. Can someone give me a clue about how it is fixed?

Research direction

Compare commits 1532daf and dfd0ee7, then run map_view_simple_example.py at each revision to reproduce the blank map and observe the difference. Done means explaining which committed change fixes the disappearing map; the issue does not identify a documentation file or test.
