Description

Originated in a chat with @ChrisBeeley.

Examples of what could be covered:

  • theming basics for Shiny and Quarto, perhaps focusing on {bslib}?
  • the su-brand-yml repo and its limits/opportunities for development of the yaml and CSS files in there (cc @DCEW and @Lextuga007 as codeowners)
  • CSS and how to target elements for styling (e.g. inspect tools)
  • SU examples of the brand/theme application
  • specific solutions from SU members, e.g. @heather-humphreys's button solution

Add further ideas and we can hone the session. Could be a 3 x 15 mins type of thing.

Research direction

Review the linked bslib theming article and su-brand-yml repository, then gather the proposed Shiny and Quarto theming, CSS inspection, SU examples, and button-solution topics. Done means turning the ideas into a honed session plan, potentially as three 15-minute segments, while incorporating further suggestions.
