Description

Describe the bug

  • My PC is connected with 2500 Mbit/s (LAN) and my phone is connected with 1152 Mbit/s (WLAN 6GHz) to my router (FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro). With other apps I can transfer with over 100 MB/s, however with Amaze it is as low as 5 MB/s on average. It's taking me several hours to copy a few GB.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start FTP Server
  2. Transfer a file to the phone

Expected behavior

  • At least somewhat usable speeds while transferring files.

Smartphone

  • Device: [Fairphone 6]
  • OS: [Android 16]
  • Rooted: [Yes]
  • Version: [e.g. 3.11.2]

Research direction

Start at the FTP Server entry point and reproduce a phone upload from the reported LAN/WLAN setup, comparing Amaze with the other apps' speeds. The issue names no source files or tests; done means identifying and fixing the cause of the roughly 5 MB/s transfer rate, then confirming substantially faster transfers on the same setup.
