Description
Currently, when you go into Game Gear settings (gensplus as the default core), you can turn off Background Layer A, B, W and Sprites, but those don't seem to do anything. I suspect because they are really for the Genesis, not the Game Gear.
And could someone add hotkeys to disable graphic layers too? Not just for Game Gear, but for all the other consoles. Currently, you can only do that with SNES and GB.

Research direction
Start by locating the Game Gear settings for the gensplus core and the existing SNES and GB graphic-layer hotkey controls. Compare how layer toggles are exposed for those systems, then determine the scope needed for Game Gear and the other consoles. Done means Game Gear layer controls work and graphic-layer hotkeys are available across the requested systems.
