Description

When playing back movies made with the Atari 2600 Stella core, the wrong time appears to be reported. In addition, the audio during movie playback appear to change pitches. It appears Stella movies need a cycle count to report the correct time.

This movie for example has a reported time of 31.774 seconds. When the movie is dumped with Sync to Audio on, the actual time appears to be closer to 47 seconds.

Reported with Bizhawk 2.11

Research direction

Start by reproducing playback of the linked TASVideos movie in BizHawk 2.11 with Sync to Audio enabled, then inspect the Atari 2600 Stella core's movie timing and audio handling. Done means playback reports the correct duration and the dumped audio no longer changes pitch relative to the movie.
