Description
Summary
When using the Genplus-gx core for the Master System game "Pit Pot", on the European release "Astro Warrior & Pit Pot", the controls in Pit Pot do not work, and it acts as if you're constantly holding up, while no other inputs seem to be recognized (the confirm button works I suppose).
The game works as expected with the SMSHawk core. The Japanese release of the game ("Fushigi no Oshiro Pit Pot") also works fine with the Genplus-gx core. In Astro Warrior, from the European two-game rom, controls also work fine.
I also tried the game with RALibRetro with the Genplus-gx core, and the controls also work correctly there, but of course that could be a different source version of the emulator.
Repro
- Make sure that Genplus-gx is set as the preferred SMS core (seems to be default)
- Load the game "Astro Warrior & Pit Pot (E)"
- Choose Pit Pot in the main menu
- In Pit Pot's menus, the up input already seems to be stuck, and when proceeding into the gameplay, the character just keeps walking up
Host env.
- BizHawk 2.11.0; Win11 Pro
- BizHawk 2.10.0; Win11 Pro

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue with BizHawk 2.11.0 and the European Astro Warrior & Pit Pot release, then compare the Genplus-gx behavior with SMSHawk and RALibRetro. No source file or test is named; done means Pit Pot no longer receives a stuck Up input while Astro Warrior and the Japanese release continue to work.
