Description

As described by RedisLabs one can implement a counting semaphore using Redis. Is there any plan to add a counting semaphore implementation to this package? I think it would be a good fit since it already support locking. What do you think?

Research direction

Start by reading the linked RedisLabs description of counting semaphores and reviewing the package's existing locking support. The issue does not identify files, tests, API requirements, or acceptance criteria, so the scope and desired behavior would need to be agreed before implementation.
