Description

Maybe we could use a specific KaaS workload to test whether our standards indeed provide practical benefits?

Some work has been done already during this year's SCS hackathon: https://input.scs.community/KaaS-OpenDesk-as-ref-app#

Roughly, the following potential issues have been identified:

  • standardize the required ingress/load balancing connectivity (some concrete proposals are in the pad)
  • standardize required storage features: default StorageClass, RWO/RWX
  • s3 as a mandatory KaaS service
  • well-known location under which CSPs can communicate expectations/best practices towards users ("MUST set PodDisruptionBudgets...")
  • user management service/RBAC
  • secrets as a service
  • network-level encryption
