Description

This one is a pie in the sky v2.0 idea, but: since we already utilise ASSIST/REBOUND would it be useful to add a feature to produce animations for X timespan duration, perhaps both interactively and as e.g. .mp4 outputs? Could be useful for impactor assessment, interstellar objects, dynamical evolution, etc. Given a "discovery date" could be used to showcase certain large survey discoveries over time

Research direction

Start by reviewing how the project currently uses ASSIST and REBOUND, then clarify whether the goal is interactive animation, MP4 output, or both, along with the intended timespan and discovery-date workflow. Done would require an agreed scope and a defined animation output for the proposed impactor, interstellar-object, or dynamical-evolution use cases.
