Description

Problem

Suggestion from Vijay:

have a suggestion here. Apparently, Luke Timmins reached out to Gerard to implement coronary BC in FEBio and they used SimVascular documentation as a guideline along with the papers by Sethu (ABME 2012) and HJ Kim (ABME 2010). I helped Gerard understand some issues with the current documentation and some typos in these papers. There are some caveats in the coronary BC that are not adequately discussed in the documentation that need to be updated. For e.g., we don't mention much about the intramyocardial pressure P_im and the use of scale factors. We are also using the figure from Kim's paper with 'V' at the ground potential, but do not discuss these. Sethu's paper uses equations suggesting that all coronary outlets are connected to left atrium, but in fact it should be connected to the right atrium.

Solution

We need to go through the coronary documentation and

  1. create a coronary example case by updating the prior example to run in svMultiPhysics
  2. update the documentation to use current formats
  3. address discrepancies and missing details as described above
