Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue on Purpur 1.21.11 with Expendable-Backpacks 1.2.0 and ProtectionStones, following the listed placement, protection, and flag steps. Trace the backpack interaction entry point and compare it with chest handling; done means unauthorized players can no longer open backpacks in another player's protected zone while permitted access still works.
