Description

The specification mentions that language servers should be able to communicate through sockets and the client package support a port option.

Being able to run the server through a port would better accommodate use cases like the one described in Shopify/ruby-lsp#1728.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the linked LSP implementation-considerations specification and the vscode-languageserver-node client package's port option, then inspect the server entry points that currently handle communication. Done means the Ruby language server can communicate through a socket or port as described, while preserving its existing communication mode.
