Description
I am not sure how that dictionary script is working. But I might offer you a simpler approach. Using an API can be a good idea as it makes the program simple. I don't know the pros and cons of using an Api but if I am wrong, please excuse me and I sincerely apologise and ask you to explain.

Research direction
The issue refers only to the dictionary script and does not name a file, test, or entry point. First locate that script and document how it currently works, then determine whether an API-based approach is intended; the work is done only when the proposed approach and its scope are clearly decided.
