Description

The pain
There are ~1000 users on the leaderboard, and everyone competes with everyone else. This can be a disincentive to new users.
Suggestion
Figure: Custom leaderboards would allow people to create private rivalries
Create additional, arbitrary leaderboards. This would mean that:
- Bob Northwind and Bill Westwind could have their own private leaderboard where they compete with each other
- We could create an event-specific leaderboard, e.g. NDC Sydney 2024
- Groups could have their own leaderboard, e.g. Commonwealth Bank, SSW Melbourne, The Sydbuddies, etc.

Research direction
Start by watching the linked video and reviewing the issue's examples of private, event-specific, and group leaderboards. Define how users create and access arbitrary leaderboards, then confirm that rivalries, events, and groups can each have their own leaderboard before implementation begins.
