Description

Using #1212 we would be able to extract diagnostics data from users in a standardized format.

This could be utilized to:

  • Automatically report errors to a debug server (opt-in)
  • Reproduce the error in a testing environment (VM)
  • Group similar errors automatically

Research direction

Start by reviewing issue #1212, since this proposal depends on its standardized diagnostics data. Determine how opt-in error reporting, VM-based reproduction, and automatic grouping would fit together; the work is done when those three intended uses have a concrete, agreed implementation scope and testing plan.
