Description
We currently show a node icon, then write text above it, and the node counts on the bottom right.
It can be hard to read the text written over images - it might be better to have separate areas that don't overlap
Also look into using Font awesome for logos - they scale well and there's heaps of them - for instance you could make a population node logo by eg:

We could decide to either grow the node to show the text, or squeeze in what we can from description level of details (see #206)
