Description
Currently we don't have traits/types for authenticated encryption (without associated data). We could implement EtM, E&M and MTE constructs generically over stream ciphers/block modes and MACs. But it's not clear if we should follow block-modes here and add implementations and traits into a single crait, or add AE trait(s) to the aead crate.

Research direction
Start by comparing the existing block-modes and aead crates, especially how their traits and implementations are organized. Decide whether authenticated-encryption traits and implementations belong in a new or existing traits crate, and document the chosen scope for EtM, E&M, and MtE without associated data. Done means the crate placement and trait design are agreed.
