Description
The problem
WAU starts during the login process of the computer.
If I shutdown the computer, running updates are often not finished.
Then applications doesn't work.
- Can WAU prevent the shutdown as long as an update of an application is running.
- It would be good to get a message if WAU has finished the whole update process (when there are no more necessary updates). There is no message at the moment! And I can not see if WAU has finished in the Windows messages or if it searches at the moment for further updates.
What version of WAU has the issue?
2.12.0.2118
What version of Windows are you using (ex. Windows 11 22H2)?
Windows 11 25H2 (26200.9457)
What version of winget are you using?

Research direction
Start by tracing WAU's login-triggered update flow and how it reports whether updates are still running. Then investigate the Windows shutdown behavior relevant to an active update. Done means the requested shutdown protection and a clear notification when all necessary updates finish are defined and verified; no source file or test is named in the issue.
