Description
This may be a subset of another ticket. But a commonly occurring subset.
A common use case is -
- a group of users sharing a private chat on a public server
- the group then wants to leave and join another server; OR the group started to use a hosting service, or decided to maintain their own server
The scenario appears to be more common than first anticipated.
NOTE: A prime candidate for devs who want to create value-added add-on/plug-ins for Rocket.Chat

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points to begin with. First clarify the export and import format and scope for private chats, then identify the relevant Rocket.Chat implementation and tests; done means a group can move its private chat to another server or hosting setup.
