Description

  • macos version: 12.3
  • machine: macbook pro m1
  • rocket.chat version: 3.8.0

I've updated rocket.chat app from 3.0.0 version (which worked pretty ok) to 3.8.0. M1 Apple Silicon support tempted me to do this.
It looks like it is total crap because now, rocket.chat app only displays a grey area and I can't use it. So this looks like a blocker/disaster bug.

Also - please keep in mind that downgrading apps in macos is not possible, it's a one-way ticket.

Research direction

No source files, tests, or entry points are mentioned. Reproduce the grey-area display in Rocket.Chat 3.8.0 on macOS 12.3 using a MacBook Pro with M1, compare it with 3.0.0 behavior, and verify that the app displays the chat interface after the fix.
