Description

Description:

Since upgrading to 4.3.0 (from 4.1.2 if that matters) apps from the marketplace get disabled now and then. I experienced this with "poll" "giphy" and "out-of-office". Sometimes just enabling the app again is sufficiant. Sometime I need to reinstall the app.

Steps to reproduce:
  1. Upgrade to 4.3.0
  2. Go to administration -> apps
  3. Apps are disabled
  4. Enable App
  5. App works
  6. App suddenly does not work anymore again
  7. repeat from step 2
Expected behavior:

apps stay enabled

Actual behavior:

apps are disabled for no good reason.

Server Setup Information:
  • Version of Rocket.Chat Server: 4.3.0
  • Operating System: Linux
  • Deployment Method: docker
  • Number of Running Instances: 4
  • DB Replicaset Oplog: sure
  • NodeJS Version: 12.something
  • MongoDB Version: 4.2.something

cheers, t.

Research direction

Begin at Administration → Apps using the listed 4.3.0 Docker setup, then reproduce the repeated disablement across the four running instances. Compare behavior before and after re-enabling or reinstalling the marketplace apps; done means enabled apps remain enabled and continue working.
