Description

  • Ripme version: 1.7.58
  • Java version: (java is not a recognized command)
  • Operating system: [Version 10.0.17134.165]

So rip me just lost my history file. No warning, nothing. The file is just blank.

  1. Is there a way to prevent this in the future?
  2. Is there some way for rip me to automatically backup every time it rips?
  3. I still have the url file; is there anyway to reverse engineer my history?

Research direction

Start by reproducing the blank history-file behavior with Ripme 1.7.58 on Windows 10, using the retained URL file as the available evidence. Then trace the history-file handling and determine what behavior should prevent data loss, support backups, or recover history; the issue is done when the agreed behavior is covered by a reproducible test.
