Description

1. Environment

  • Device: Poco F3
  • OS: Lineage 19.1
  • APP: 0.8.3

2. Describe the feature request

Bottom bar may not be ideal for all users. It would be worth thinking about moving bottom bar buttons to a hamburger/offscreen menus so we can use more screen estate while looking at articles and article list.

Another point: if a user enables navigation via bottom buttons system wide then there will be 2 rows of buttons - one for system nav and another for ReadYou

Research direction

Start by reviewing how ReadYou presents its bottom navigation in the Android app. Define how users would hide or replace the bottom bar while retaining navigation, and verify that system navigation does not create an unwanted second row. There are no file or test entry points named in the issue.
