Description

1. Environment

  • Device: Samsung A55
  • OS: Android 14
  • APP: 0.12.2

2. Describe the feature request

Would it be possible to add a setting to restore the old mark-as-read behaviour (where read articles are immediately cleared from the Unread list)? I personally prefer it to the new lazy one as I found it easier to clear out large numbers of articles which I was not interested in.

Research direction

Start by tracing the Android app's current mark-as-read behavior and where user settings are defined; the issue does not name a file or test. Done means users can choose the old immediate-clearing behavior, while the existing lazy behavior remains available and the setting is covered by the relevant checks.
