Hi!

I believe that giving the ability to export a specified selection of full-text articles, for the purpose of reading them on an eBook reader, would greatly enhance the features of the application. To ensure a satisfactory workflow, I would suggest the following implementations:

  • Selection of articles to export based on various criteria (e.g. within a certain amount of hours/days, with fewer than X words) that can be applied either to all feeds or to each feed in a separate manner;
  • Optional "mark as read" for the exported articles, as they are supposed to be read on another device anyway;
  • Toggle for choosing whether to export all articles in a single .ePub file or in separate .ePub files, one for each feed;
  • Optional 2-level table of contents based on feeds and articles;
  • In case of a single .ePub file, adding a page break after the last article of a given feed.

A process that automatically creates these files on a schedule (e.g. every day at 8:00) could be a great addition as well. As an eBook reader owner, such a feature in NetNewsWire and an automatic sync of the exported files would represent an outstanding setup, which could also become more valuable given the increasing existence of eInk note-taking devices with pen support.
