Research direction
Start with gui_v1.py, especially GUI.init and update_devices, then inspect the sounddevice.py query_devices call shown in the traceback. Reproduce the device enumeration failure in the reported environment and determine how the non-UTF-8 device name is handled. Done means device discovery no longer raises this UnicodeDecodeError.
