Description

Broadly, this checklist should amount to following our policies and process directories.

Research direction

Start with maintainer.md and review the policies and process directories, using issue #53 for context. Add an adoption checklist that covers following those directories' guidance, and consider the work complete when the checklist is included in maintainer.md and reflects the relevant policies and processes.
