Description
Since GitHub web editor is made public recently, I'm wondering if it is possible and if there is anything we could do to make vscode-R also (partially) work as a web extension?
The guideline should be useful.

Research direction
Start with the linked VS Code web extensions guideline and assess the vscode-R extension against the github.dev environment described in the issue. Identify which existing capabilities are incompatible with web extensions and define the supported scope before making changes; done means the agreed subset works in github.dev.
