Description

Hi there,

Recently, I have created a styling package (tergo) for R language and I would love to use it from RLanguageServer. Are there any plans of exposing more options for formatting/styling code using different packages or even binaries?

@renkun-ken I am happy to work on the interface of this and the vscode extension settings needed to support this.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the RLanguageServer formatting entry point and the VS Code extension settings mentioned in the issue, then examine how the tergo R package would fit. The work is complete when the project has an agreed interface for selecting alternate formatting packages or binaries and the corresponding extension settings are defined.
